Frequently Asked Questions

Navigating pediatric therapy can bring up a lot of questions about schedules, insurance, and what to expect during sessions. We believe in total transparency, so we have gathered answers to the most common questions families ask when beginning their journey with Cubs Corner.

How long does a typical therapy session last, and how often will my child need to come?

Most individual therapy sessions last between 45 to 60 minutes. The frequency of visits depends entirely on your child’s customized care plan—some children benefit from intensive twice-a-week sessions, while others come once a week or bi-weekly. Your therapist will recommend a schedule after the initial evaluation.

What should my child wear to their physical or occupational therapy sessions?

Please dress your child in comfortable, flexible clothing (like t-shirts, leggings, or sweatpants) and closed-toe athletic shoes. Our therapy involves a lot of movement, climbing, and play, so they need to be able to move freely and safely.

Can I stay in the room during my child's therapy session?

Absolutely. We highly encourage parent and caregiver involvement! Watching the sessions helps you learn the strategies and cues our therapists use, making it much easier to implement helpful exercises and home strategies into your daily routine.

How do I know if my child needs multiple types of therapy (like both speech and OT)?

During your initial consultation or evaluation, if our therapists notice indicators outside their specific specialty, they will recommend a cross-evaluation with another team member. Because our PT, OT, and speech specialists work under one roof, we easily coordinate multi-disciplinary care to support your child's total development.
